This topic is for discussion on anything pertaining to Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald Versions.
These were the first Pokemon games for the Game Boy Advance, and introduced Pokemon gamers with 134 new Pokemon along with the Hoenn Region. It also had two rival teams, known as Team Aqua, and Team Magma.
You can also talk about Fire Red and Leaf Green here.
Fire Red and Leaf Green were remakes of Pokemon Red and Pokemon Green, but Leaf Green was given the same base of Pokemon Blue Version, because Green Version was not released outside of Japan. These two games took you through the Kanto Region like you had never seen before, with updated graphics, and new locations known as the Sevii Islands.

I'm just saying, but shouldn't we be free to discuss the games on our own? Not within specific threads. Just sayin'.

Weell, if we did it that way, then people would talk about something like Cubone from Gen. I and others think it is the Cubone from Gen. III. There are significant differences, most notably the movelists. There would be confusion as well as a lot of disgruntled members.
BTW West, I think maybe you should re-order them according to generation, so that there won't be as many threads. It would allow FR/LG to be with R/S/E and HG/SS to be with D/P/Pt.

QotD: "Efficiency is doing better what is already being done" Well I have a feeling they'd specify if they were talking about generation one. It just seems like if there's a specific topic, and people have something to say about it, it'd just be easier to make their own topic. I mean, if I was talking about Cubone from generation 1, I wouldn't say: "I think Cubones are amazing!" I'd say: "I think 1st gen Cubones are amazing. Although the ones from later generations were a bit weak." We talk about the present, and if we're talking about the past, we use past tense/specify we're talking about the past. Just my opinion. -Tator

"If you're going to do a job, do it well."
It seems more compact and organized if all three games of the trio have there own thread.
@xiv: I was planning on putting Fire Red and Leaf Green in the R/S/E thread, but it wouldn't all fit in the name. Plus, Heart Gold and Soul Silver aren't out, and I don't think they really need a topic here yet. But, I will edit the first post to specify you can also talk about Fire Red and Leaf Green here.

Why not make a "Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum" board instead of pokemon games, then have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen sub-forums within that?

It was strange to have one forum for all of these games. We'll see what happens in the future. Now, get on topic people! D< I really like Fire Red and Leaf Green, because most people didn't get a chance to play on Red, Blue or Yellow, plus Fire Red and Leaf Green are great for completing the Pokedex. You could, not easily, but could, catch most of the the 252 Pokemon from Gold, Silver and Crystal. But the again, some you could only get from Colosseum.

lol I love how no one has actually discussed the actual topic yet XD Guys, Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald plz?
I never id get a chance to play Ruby, which is a shame because I think Zangoose is epic and you don't get them in Sapphire or Emerald. I really enjoyed the new little plot ideas in this one. Like the dive ability and the underwater caves and what not. It was a neat twist. Otherwise it was pretty average as far as the games go. The 1st and 2nd gen games will always be my favourites, even with D/P/Plt awesome effects and extras (OMG digging mini games yes!!) ^___^

Uhm, weird? I can't seem to figure out how to edit thread titles.. :/
I was going to rename this one to Generation III (RSE and FRLG), and the others (Generation I, II, IIII, etc.), but I can't figure out how. :x There's no "Edit Topic" button or anything. :/

Don't look at me, I didn't make this forum. >_> And you don't need to rename this thread anyway. If we make sub-forums for this section, that will take care of everything. I actually tried yesterday, but I couldn't seem to figure it out. =/ Now, last warning people, get on topic! D<
